Zooberei is a collection of games for young children. The games work offline and require no Zooberei account. Apple’s regional age check may require an internet connection and an Apple Account before play can start. Buying and restoring the full version use Apple’s App Store. Apple sends purchase events to RevenueCat for our purchase management and sales reports. This policy describes the app. Separate website information is available at yountstudios.com/privacy/.

The app in short
• Your child’s name, buddy animal, game progress and sticker book stay on the device unless you choose to share a certificate. Purchase data is processed separately by Apple and RevenueCat.
• No ads, no analysis of gameplay, no advertising tracking, no accounts and no chat. The app contains no RevenueCat SDK.
• Purchases, restoring purchases, certificate exports and the parents’ area are protected by a parental gate.
What stays on the device
To make the games work, the app stores on the device: your child's first name or nickname and the chosen buddy animal (both optional), game progress, the sticker book, settings, and whether the full version was bought. These local saves are not sent to us or RevenueCat. Sharing a certificate and device backups are described below. Local storage enables the features selected by the family (§ 25(2)(2) TDDDG). Where personal data is involved, we rely on our legitimate interest in providing the requested local game functions (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A real name is not required; the game also works without a name.
The name and buddy animal can be deleted at any time in the app (pencil symbol in the main menu, then "Delete"). Deleting the app removes its local data, but does not delete Apple’s or RevenueCat’s purchase records or copies you have shared. Local data may be part of device or iCloud backups that you or Apple manage.
Voices and sounds
The spoken lines are recordings that come with the app. No speech service is used, and the app uses neither the microphone nor the camera.
Glitter and gold certificates
The sticker book's certificate (with your child's name) only leaves the device when a grown-up passes the parental gate and prints, saves or shares it through the iOS share sheet. iOS asks for permission before saving it to Photos. You decide where it goes; we never receive it.
Regional age check
On iOS and iPadOS 26.2 or later, the app asks Apple whether regional age requirements apply. Where required, it requests the age category through Apple’s Declared Age Range API. The category is handled only during the native request on your device; it is not stored by Zooberei, sent to us or RevenueCat, or used for analytics. We do not receive a birthdate or identity document. All age groups receive the same child-appropriate games, and the parental gate remains active. A required check must be completed before playing. The purpose is compliance with applicable age-assurance duties (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR); checking applicability also serves our legitimate interest in providing the app lawfully (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Apple independently handles its account data and any system consent screens.
Purchases through Apple
The download and the one-time purchase of the full version go through Apple's App Store. Apple processes data such as your Apple Account and payment details as an independent controller; we do not receive your card or bank account details. Purchase events are also processed through RevenueCat as described below. The app checks on the device, through Apple's StoreKit, whether the full version was bought. Family Sharing and "Ask to Buy" are handled by Apple as well.
If you agreed in the iOS settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple provides us with aggregated usage and crash statistics that do not identify you.

Purchase management with RevenueCat
We use RevenueCat, Inc., 1032 E Brandon Blvd #3003, Brandon, FL 33511, USA to manage purchase records and review sales. Apple’s servers send signed notifications about purchases and refunds to RevenueCat. These include the product, transaction identifiers, purchase time, purchase status and, when supplied by Apple, price, currency and store country. RevenueCat assigns the purchase to a randomly generated app user identifier; we do not connect it to a child profile or parent account.
We do not send your child’s name, buddy animal, sticker book, game progress, email address or advertising identifier to RevenueCat. RevenueCat acts as our processor. The purchase history supports sales analysis and purchase verification, without advertising tracking. StoreKit on your device controls access to the games.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interests are reconciling purchases and refunds, resolving purchase support requests and understanding sales. We use pseudonymous transaction records, without linking them to children’s local profiles.
RevenueCat normally retains these records for the term of our service agreement. We delete records that are no longer required for these purposes, subject to applicable legal retention duties. To request access, deletion or object to this processing, contact us using the address above. A purchase date, product or Apple transaction reference can help identify the record; do not send payment credentials. Where the legal conditions are met, we remove the corresponding customer record and purchase history through RevenueCat’s deletion function. Deleting the app alone does not trigger this. New Apple purchase events may generate new records.

Our website
Our information website for parents is hosted using OpenAI Sites. Its hosting, visitor statistics, recipients, retention criteria and international transfers are described separately at yountstudios.com/privacy/. Opening the website sends technical request data to that hosting service.
Contact by email
If you contact us, we process your contact details and message to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual requests; Art. 6(1)(f) for other correspondence). We use Microsoft 365 through GoDaddy.com, LLC, with Microsoft as the email service provider, under their data processing terms. We delete correspondence once it is no longer needed to resolve the matter; statutory retention duties or the defence of legal claims can require longer storage. Please avoid including children’s names or other information that is not needed for support.
Processing outside the EU
RevenueCat processes purchase data in the USA under its Data Processing Addendum (Art. 28 GDPR), which includes the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers without an adequacy decision (Art. 46 GDPR): revenuecat.com/dpa. Email providers may also process data outside the EEA. GoDaddy’s data processing terms provide for applicable adequacy decisions, including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for covered transfers, and otherwise EU Standard Contractual Clauses. The relevant documents and links are at yountstudios.com/privacy/. You can request information on these safeguards from us.
Children
Zooberei is made for children aged 3 to 6. The optional name and progress are processed locally on the device. We receive no child profiles or gameplay activity. Purchases and any export of a certificate are intended for adults and protected by the parental gate. The app includes no ads, chat or user uploads. Parents can contact us about children’s privacy, including concerns under COPPA, using the address above
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). Just write to hello@yountstudios.com.
You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the one responsible for us: Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, https://www.datenschutz-berlin.de.
You may object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). Providing a name or contacting support is voluntary. Purchase processing is needed to fulfil an in-app purchase. There is no automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects and no profiling of children.
Changes
We update this policy when the app or the law changes. Last updated: 30 September 2026.
